Adoption of our pets into their forever families is the ultimate goal of the staff and volunteers of PAWS. Our medical care strategy, our hands on volunteer program, and our unique adoption process all prioritize creating an environment in which we get to know each individual animal in order to help them find their perfect family match.
Foster families fill a critical role in the lives of animals who need special attention to facilitate their adoption. Foster parents can provide essential safety and comfort for pets who are rescued as newborns, who are recovering from medical conditions or procedures, or need a specific type of emotional support.
At PAWS, we believe that the spay and neuter of all domestic cats is a critical step toward reducing the number of these animals euthanized in shelters every year. Towards that mission, PAWS offers a free spay/neuter voucher to residents of Coronado who cannot afford to spay or neuter their own cat, or a feral cat under their care.
City of Coronado Services
The Coronado Animal Care Facility, in cooperation with the City of Coronado and Coronado PD, offers medical care and other essential animal welfare services to our community. In addition to being the medical care component of Coronado’s animal services, the ACF provides annual pet licensing and lost and found assistance for Coronado residents.
Lost and Found Assistance
The staff at the ACF work to reunite lost pets with their families as rapidly as possible. In this role they care for found pets and assist in raising awareness of both lost and found Coronado pets through our multiple media outlets.
Current animal licenses are required for both dogs and cats residing within the city of Coronado. The ACF issues animal licenses both on the premises and electronically, with proof of current vaccinations.
