July the Bahraini street rescue

July the Bahraini street rescue is the most special smile you’ll see on this island! Found at just 4 weeks old in the middle of the street in Bahrain, severely malnourished and weak, he represents pure joy, love, and resilience! Abandoned by his wild street pack, full of ticks and scars from other dog bites, he filled an enormous hole in his Momma’s heart from losing her 12 yr old heart dog(a shelter rescue) just 1.5 months prior. They both felt it, the moment she chased him and picked him up, cradling him in her arms as she felt his body completely relax, knowing he was safe. His soul was broken (you could see it in his eyes) as was her heart. It was meant to be!

Rosie

Coronado is a friendly town and deserves the friendliest mayor! Rosie has never met a stranger and is known in town as the friendliest, happiest pup around. Rosie loves to spend her days cruising around Orange Ave, maybe with a stop at the Henry or McP’s, and always with a stop at her favorite place in Coronado- the fire station! Coronado’s bravest can always be counted on for some scratches and maybe some treats.

Meet Coconut – The Fluffiest Candidate for Animal Mayor of Coronado! 🐾

Coconut is a spirited young rescue Pomeranian with the biggest heart and brightest blue eyes in town. As the energetic youngest of four in a loving multi-dog family, this tiny cream-colored fluffball brings nonstop joy wherever he goes.
With his oldest brother Officer Bear (the beloved Corgi known around Coronado for keeping the peace), and two middle Chihuahua-mix rescue siblings, Coconut has learned the most important lesson: all dogs are friends! Whether he’s zooming around the beach, proudly sporting his campaign baseball cap, or trying to play with every pup he meets, Coconut’s mission is simple — spread happiness, promote playtime, and make sure every dog (and human) feels included.
High-energy, cuddly, and endlessly optimistic, this little guy is a natural leader who believes in community walks, extra belly rubs, and turning strangers into best friends. He’s teething, growing, and ready to champion more parks, beach access, and forever homes for animals across Coronado.
Vote Coconut for Animal Mayor — because a little fluff can make a big difference!
Toffee

I am an American dog of mixed breeding descent. My father is a Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle mix, and my mother is a Cocker Spaniel and Medium Poodle mix. If you just called me a “double doodle,” I would not be offended. I started training to be a therapy dog when I was 9 months old. I naturally love people and want to say hi to everyone I meet. I trained for 6 months, was certified and started making people smile at Sharp Coronado Hospital and the Villa. After 15 months, I have over 160 hours of wonderful memories of making someone smile when they were in pain or afraid or just having a rough day. Now I want to branch out and help our entire community and fellow animals become even happier. I have ideas on how to reduce abandoned doggie “business” and improve adoptable animal visibility. My “sister” is a cat who was born by a feral female and rescued, and I want to strategize with humans to reduce the number of animals abandoned in Coronado. I consider myself an incredibly lucky doggie and want to give back to this wonderful City.
Fred

Meet Fred Trapp, Candidate for Animal Mayor of Coronado!
At 19 years old, Fred brings maturity, experience, and an impressive appetite to the mayoral race. Originally from the Los Angeles area, Fred relocated to Coronado and quickly embraced island life. He now resides in a spacious waterfront aquarium in Coronado, where he keeps a watchful eye on the community and an even closer eye on feeding time.
Fred is an Argentine Horned Frog, better known as a Pac-Man Frog thanks to his famously enormous mouth. While some candidates talk a lot, Fred prefers to let his actions speak for themselves—though if elected, he promises to use that big mouth only for good!
Inspired by Coronado’s legendary Navy SEAL Frogmen, Fred believes being a frog is more than a species—it’s a commitment to service. While he may not have completed BUD/S training, he has mastered stealth observation, strategic patience, and decisive action when opportunity presents itself.
Fred’s platform is simple: protect local habitats, support all creatures great and small, and keep Coronado hopping. His calm demeanor, steady leadership, and ability to see the big picture make him uniquely qualified for the job.
Vote Fred for Animal Mayor of Coronado—because if Coronado is home to America’s most famous Frogmen, it only makes sense to have a Frog as Mayor!
Meet Piper and Zeus, the Island Dog Duo!

Piper is a spunky 11-year-old cockapoo, and Zeus is a lovable 6-year-old boxer. Whether they’re enjoying Coronado’s beach, stopping by their favorite local businesses for treats, or greeting friends around town, they’re always spreading smiles! Together, they’re proud to support PAWS of Coronado and help raise funds for animals in need. Two Dogs. One Mission!

Bowser

I’m Bowser, a rescue bulldog from PAWS, and I’m ready to sink my teeth into the role of mayor!
Here’s a little more about me.
My favorite hobby is eating. I love treats and the delicious dog food my dad makes in the crockpot. I also enjoy eating various non-food items, including, but not limited to: remote controls, phone chargers, shoes, designer purse handles, Tupperware, walls, underwear, and furniture. I also enjoy a good selection of bathroom trash.
My favorite activities are splashing in my dog pool and throwing up in it. I also enjoy dropping balls and toys onto the treadmill when mom is trying to run. Sometimes she trips and gets mad at me, but I think she secretly likes this because it adds an element of mystery and excitement to her workout. OBSTACLE!
I don’t like blenders, trash bags or vacuums. These items do not please me. They appear to be dangerous, and I’m considering a city-wide ban.
When it comes to policy, my goal is simple: to make Coronado a safe, welcoming place for humans and animals alike. I’m advocating for:
- A fenced-in dog park in the Village, complete with an agility course.
- Increased storefront support of pets: food bowls and water stations at all local businesses.
- Work with Stop the Sewage to reopen Dog Beach for good.
- Installation of “Little Free Toy Stations” stocked with new or slightly used brain-boosting toys, essential for development.
- Community meetups for ALL pets: These could range from “Bunny Hoppy Hours” to a “Lizard Lounge” and even a “Whisker and Waffle” social club.
Vote for me, Bowser for Mayor!

Sir Winston

Sir Winston is a 225-pound English Mastiff, proud Coronado native, military family pup, and gentle giant with a heart as big as he is.
Since arriving in Coronado at just three months old, Winston has spent his life making friends wherever he goes. While his size may stop people in their tracks, his sweet nature quickly wins them over. Visitors and tourists frequently stop to take his picture, a role he embraces with all the patience and charm of a true community ambassador.
When he’s not greeting neighbors on his daily walks around town, Winston can often be found collecting belly rubs, hoping for a donut hole from Clayton’s, or taking one of his signature naps. As a proud supporter of the local fire department, he also howls his approval whenever a fire truck passes by, often inspiring neighbors to laugh and join in.
His campaign platform is simple:
🐾 All Drool. No Drama. 🐾
Winston is honored to support Paws of Coronado and the incredible work they do for rescue animals.
Vote Sir Winston: A Gentle Giant for a Small Town.
