They’re seeking a calm, patient environment where they can feel safe and settle in at their own pace. With time, understanding, and a little encouragement, Sadie and Val will blossom into loyal, affectionate companions. Watching them come out of their shells and learn to trust is incredibly rewarding—these are the kinds of dogs who form deep, meaningful connections with their people.
Ideal Home:
- A calm, low-traffic household
- Adult-only or children 13+
- A secure, fenced yard (they are still building confidence on leash)
- A dedicated space where they can decompress and feel safe
- Patient adopters willing to give them time to adjust and build trust
They may do well with another calm dog in the home after a proper introduction. A confident, easygoing canine companion could help them feel more secure, though they’ll need a little time to adjust in a new environment.
Sadie and Val don’t need perfection—they just need someone willing to meet them where they are and give them the chance to feel safe, loved, and at home. In return, you’ll get to witness something truly special: two shy dogs discovering joy, comfort, and trust for the very first time.
They are currently available as a foster-to-adopt pair, giving them the opportunity to transition out of the shelter and into a home environment while continuing to build trust and adjust at their own pace.
