Scotty wasn’t always sad. Once upon a time he lived with his brother Leo in a home with their human family. But then their family said they were moving and could not take the boys with them and they brought them to the shelter.
It was a confusing time for the 12-year-old siblings. Losing their home and the only family that had known since they were kittens was scary. But at least they still had each other. And Leo and Scott took great comfort from their relationship – sleeping together, bathing each other, playing together.
Living at the shelter wasn’t ideal, but everyone was very nice and the boys felt safe and well cared for. And the volunteers were always quick to give them a lap to snuggle on which made they both very happy.
The months passed and no one showed any interest in two 12 year old cats. And then 7-1/2 months after they arrived at the shelter, tragedy struck. Leo was diagnosed with a rapid growing, untreatable cancer and he was crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.
This has left Scotty all alone, sad and missing his lifetime feline companion.
And so Scotty, one very sad cat, needs a helping hand now more than ever. Scotty needs someone to open their heart and home – and lap – to him. It is past time for him to leave the shelter and to once again live in a home.
Scotty has been enrolled in our Lifetime Care Program. In this program, Scotty can live out his life in a foster home and PAWS will be responsible for his health care and food.
Do you have room in your heart and home for this super affectionate boy? Can you lend a helping hand to Scotty?
