Our handsome boy Ranger has found his forever home. He came to us as a stray. We felt he would be a perfect Shelter to Soldier candidate, but an opening for them to take him was too far in the future. Once up on the website, the applications came in. We knew Ranger would thrive with an active family and a big yard. On a very rainy day a woman came in to meet Ranger. She was familiar with the breed, having had Rottweilers in the past. Despite the rain, she played ball with Ranger in the back yard for close to an hour. She loved him. He loved her. The following Saturday, she brought her husband and their resident dog, Chester (a 14 year old Chinese Crested), to meet Ranger. Carl facilitated the meet and greet and it worked. Ranger at last has that active family and large yard. Chester is adjusting to sharing his home with Ranger. Even the family birds are adjusting.
The family reports Ranger is in obedience training and doing well. They say “it’s an adventure every time we walk him around other dogs.” They think they have found a trainer who can help Ranger learn proper behavior around other dogs. They further say… “We LOVE him!!! and promise to take good care of him.”
Perhaps knowing that he is safe and has a home of his own, Ranger will settle down and enjoy his new family.
